Author Guidelines
- Manuscript Format and Preparation
• Word Count:
- Empirical Research Articles: 6,000–9,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
- Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR): 7,000–10,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
• Structured Abstract (Maximum 250 Words):
The abstract must be written in a single paragraph without citations and should clearly include:
- Introduction/Objective
- Methodology
- Findings
- Originality and/or Practical Implications
• Keywords:
Authors must provide 4–6 relevant keywords to facilitate indexing and improve discoverability.
• Reference Style:
References must follow APA Style (7th Edition). Authors are required to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. At least 80% of references should be derived from reputable international journals published within the last ten years.
- Peer Review Integrity and Anonymity Procedure (Double-Blind Review)
JEDBR employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain concealed throughout the review process.
To ensure compliance with this policy:
• Separate Title Page:
Author names, institutional affiliations, corresponding author details, ORCID IDs (if available), and acknowledgments must be included only in a separate Title Page file submitted independently from the manuscript.
• Blinded Manuscript:
The main manuscript file must not contain any information that could identify the author(s). Self-citations should be written in a neutral third-person format. For example:
Incorrect:
“In our previous study (Hutahayan, 2024)...”
Correct:
“As reported by Hutahayan (2024)...”
- Ethical Policies and Author Declarations
During the submission process, authors must confirm compliance with the following ethical requirements:
• Plagiarism Screening:
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, and no single source may contribute more than 3% similarity.
• Declaration of Interest:
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research outcomes or interpretations.
• Funding Statement:
Authors must clearly identify all sources of financial support, grants, sponsorships, or research funding related to the study. If no funding was received, authors should state: “This research received no external funding.”
• Data Availability Statement:
JEDBR encourages research transparency and reproducibility. Authors are strongly encouraged to make their datasets, statistical analysis syntax, and supporting materials available upon reasonable request for verification and replication purposes. Where applicable, authors may deposit research data in recognized repositories and provide the corresponding access information within the manuscript.
